My
name is David Lee Grace, Jr., son of David Lee Grace, Sr. and
Sharon Mae Grace. Music has always been an essential part of
my life. Both my mother and father have immense talent in music
ranging from vocal, vocal harmony, and instrument play. I managed
to get my mother’s power while inheriting my fathers soothing
mannerisms as a vocalist. My father is also a magnificent steel
guitarist, thus, explaining the talent of my instrumental play.
He was also an astonishing writer.
During my collegiate years, I was a four-year letter winner
as a middle linebacker for the Texa s A&M University-Kingsville
Javelina football team. I received my Bachelor’s Degree
of Science in May of 2006 and received my Master’s Degree
of Science in December of 2007 from Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
All of my writing comes from personal experiences. Having a
reason to write is the core of creating of a great song. It’s
not just the lyrics and chords, but how the song is presented
to the listener and how it can relate to their personal experiences.
I never could just ‘write to write’; it had to be
a feeling or a notion of some sort. I do not know if that is
a positive or a negative in the songwriters’ creed, but
personally it has worked in my favor thus far.
